Jenna's Crew

Jenna wanted me to introduce her crew to you. These are her very best friends that we take most places. She plays and chews on these little guys all day. I think of these friends like toys on "Toy Story". They are all kind of quirky in their own way and we make up stories about them and where they came from. I can only imagine what they think of their leader (Jenna) and her mom :)

And without further ado we introduce "the crew":
Sophie: Jenna's very best buddy (and most expensive)

Mr. Elephant/Ellie: A great traveler and crinkly belly

Ball: Easy to grab and chew on...his younger brother
Mini-Ball (not pictured) is a car seat only friend
Mr. Moose/Moosey Moose: Hangs around on the
play mat but does venture out with us for long trips

We are lucky to have them around and thankful for those who purchased these fine friends.

**Editors Note: I probably should be cleaning the house...but this is more fun :)

Happy 3rd & 4th of July

3rd of July in my family has always been as big of deal as the 4th. We always went to my Grandma Faith's house on Big Lake to celebrate. After my grandma passed it hasn't been quite the same but we have tried to carry on the tradition...at least until her house sells. We were able to take Jenna to the lake to celebrate and she was able to meet more family and see my grandparents again.
As the fireworks started to go off later in the evening we had to retreat indoors because Jenna got a little scared. I sat by the window with her and just as the fireworks began she stared with amazement. I'm glad I was able to take her to a 3rd of July at Grandma Faith's.
The next day we went to the Sedro Woolley Parade with my dad. We met up with Dorothy, Adam, Danielle, Elise and Alison. Uncle Les was in the parade on the Whidbey Island Bank float. We had a lot of fun and surprisingly there were not as many logging trucks as I remember.
So happy to share Jenna's first 3rd and 4th of July with Family!

A bigger head means lots of brains...right?

Jenna had her 6 Month check up today and she weighs 14 lb 7oz (15th percentile) and is 24 1/2 inches (5th percentile) and her head is in the 25th percentile. As Grandma Myrene says "a bigger head has a lot of brains." I think that it must be true since Jeff always had a larger head when he was a baby.
Even though she is petite and has a larger head...she is doing great.
Jeff (and his larger head) around Jenna's age
I showed the doctor how Jenna loves to stand rather than sit or roll and she thinks maybe we will have an early walker. I was thinking had at least until she was year for the walking and now I might have to get this place baby proofed a little sooner. Guess that wine rack needs a new home.
Loving to stand

Sailing Baby

Glenn took us out on his sail boat over the weekend to Friday Harbor and we had tons of fun. It was Jenna's first boat ride and she seemed to enjoy it (except when the life jacket first came on).
Then she realized it wasn't so bad and took a nice nap with Grandma.
We spent a wonderful day out on the water.
Steering the boat!
She loved looking at the boats going by and the people waving at us from the ferry.
Once we arrived to Friday Harbor we ate ice cream, walked around and went to a car show.
As the end of the day came we had a wonderful steak dinner that Glenn and Myrene made us and then headed off to a late night ferry ride. It was a fun day with beautiful weather!

Jenna & Eli Sittin' in a Tree...

We finally made it over to visit Eli Young, his mom Ashley and his big sister Ella last week. Eli was born a few weeks after Jenna and we finally got the babies together. When we laid them down next to each other they immediately held hands!
Eli even tried to roll over to get a better look at Jenna. We had to quickly separate the two...especially because Eli weighs about 6 more pounds then Jenna.
They were so cute and played so well together. I look forward to many more play dates in the future. I'm pretty sure they were fond of each other.

Camano, Kisses & "Uncle" Oskar

Jenna and I spent several days visiting Grammy & Papa's house last week. We were lucky enough to spend some time outside and enjoy beautiful Camano Island.
During our visit she learned how to give kisses...
She leans in grabbing your face and then gives a nice open mouth kiss! It is the cutest thing.

It was the first time that she paid attention to her "Uncle" Oskar too. He was a little concerned when her little hands started reaching for his fur. I am sure he was so glad that he had just gotten a hair cut and his fur was short for the summer. I'm guessing this winter when his "niece" starts to walk and his fur will be longer he will not be so willing to tolerate her.
We had such a good time (as always) and we look forward to visiting them again soon.
