Modeling Gig & a Day at the Park

A few weeks ago one of the mom's in my mom's group asked for baby volunteers to model some items for her business (PoBa) on Etsy. She makes baby blankets, dresses, pants and bandana bibs (bibdanas). For this photo shoot she wanted some babies to model her bibdanas. Jenna is usually such a calm and happy baby I thought she would be perfect and I wanted to help out. At first I thought the mom would be taking the photos herself at her home and she probably wouldn't need us because everyone in the group had volunteered. She decided to go with 5 non-walking, mellow babies ranging from 6 months to 13 months and Jenna was one of the them!

Next thing I know I got an email from a professional photographer that was hired explaining what she needed Jenna to wear, directions to her studio and I had to fill out a disclosure form. This was a serious modeling gig and suddenly I was nervous! I began to panic thinking "is this where it all begins? Am I now a stage mom? Will we be moving to LA for Jenna's career with Disney? And you know some of those child stars turn to drugs and end up in jail. What have I done?" Then I came back to reality and figured this was probably the only time that she would modeling and I could cancel the spray tan appointment :) All turned out well at the photo shoot and Jenna was adorable with the other babies. I look forward to seeing the pictures soon.

After the shoot and nap time we headed to the park to enjoy the non-rainy weather. It was the first time that we took Jenna on the playgroup equipment. She did pretty good walking with help and going down the slide. Here are some cute pictures:

Grammy & Papa Visit

A few weeks ago Grammy came to visit us and a few days later Papa arrived.
We had a great time and got a few things done that were on my list of "to-do's." My mom is such a great organizer and when I have an idea she knows just the right thing to do. We had fun playing with Jenna, drinking wine and watched a couple Lifetime Movies (our favorite).

One evening Jeff got off work early so we headed to the park to enjoy the sun.
Loving the swings
Although it was sunny out, the wind was blowing so much that we were frozen. But we had a good time!

When Papa arrived Jenna found his wallet (smart girl)...
She pulled out his credit cards, money and receipts. Grammy told her if she learned how to use she could buy whatever she wanted. I am thinking an iPad was the first thing that came to her mind.

We finished off the visit by going to the Zoo and meeting Paul Jr., Bernie Ann and Lilli there. Jeff and I decided to get the seasons pass. I am looking forward to many trips to the zoo.

Does this diaper make my bottom look big?

I promise we aren't white trash...our baby is usually dressed, not too sticky and I have only found 1 cheerio in her diaper :)
Jenna had one of her chocking incidents. She stuffed too much food in her mouth without chewing, which resulted in some puke on her clothes. We were off to the bath tub and couldn't resist taking some cute photos of buggy in her diaper.
This is the look of two top teeth coming in aka popeye
Loves to "drink" out of her cup
Showing off the bottom teeth
On our way to the tub.
"Are you sure I am supposed to be doing this?"
Now if we move up river, lose our teeth and start drinking Rainer; I will happily re-tract the white trash statement!

Houston We Have a Stair Climber

Gramma and Grandpa Glenn came for a visit last weekend and we discovered that Jenna knows how to climb the stairs!
Heading for the stairs
So proud!
The look of determination
Gramma discovered that Jenna loves to look at the pictures on the wall. Now we can not go by them with out looking at each of them. She will point at each photo as we say the names of the people in them. She has a little flip book with family members photos that she looks through and loves looking at books with real pictures.
Wanting to look at the photos
We also have been practicing walking. She doesn't quite have the balance part down and will cross her feet over each other when she steps, but we are getting there.
As always we had a project for Grandpa Glenn. We were trying to attach the clips for the cupboards to prevent Jenna from opening and had a few issues. Lucky for us Glenn is handy and he helped us. Jenna can't get to the chemicals now.
We had a great time with them. Although we did not do much because of the rainy weather it was fun to have them here. Jenna loves her grandparents!
A new trick when she doesn't want to be held :)
