First Father's Day

Jenna was so excited to give Jeff his father's day gift we celebrated the night before. It was so cute to see her interact and want to open up the gift. She helped by "reading the card" and then chewing on some tissue paper (FYI the tissue paper literally melts when it meets baby drool...Jenna will not have any tissue paper in her gifts in the future!)
Jenna (with Mommy's help) gave Jeff a book of pictures documenting their first five months together. It turned out really nice and Jeff loved it!
We spent the next day (Father's Day) at Uncle Alan & Aunt Alona's house. We love going there and feel so lucky to have family close by. It was a wonderful day and Jenna is so lucky to have such a great Daddy!

Baby Photo Shoot

Yesterday, Jenna and I were playing and she was extremely happy so I decided to get the camera out and see what kind of pictures I could get. I am still learning to use it but I think I got some good pictures. I took as many as I could until her patience ran out.
I love how her personality is starting to come out and she has a little sparkle in her eye.

Retirement Party, New Cousin & a Goat

For the second weekend in a row we drove up to the Valley to attend Jeff's Uncle Les' retirement party. I was a little nervous that Jenna might get tired and cranky during the event; but she surprised us and stayed pretty happy.

Meeting Adam
She met a lot of new people and finally was introduced to her cousin Elise (Adam & Danielle's almost two year old daughter). They seemed to hit it off and I know they will be good friends. I look forward to watching them and Kailey this summer at Birch Bay.
We ended the weekend by visiting Grandpa Dennis. Jenna loves looking at his stuffed goat and Grandpa told her that he will make sure and leave it to her in his will...I quickly told Jenna that she can have it in her future play house or in an attic where she can visit it!

Future Boyfriend?

My good friend Desi came to visit us from Seattle last week and brought her adorable little boy Liam. He was so cute around Jenna.

At first he was unsure of her but soon he was asking to hold her and kiss her (her first kiss...and her last until she is much older). I remember when Desi was pregnant telling her that I hope that I have a little girl someday so Liam could have a girlfriend. It might be tough competition for my little girl because Liam has several ladies in his life already :)
It was so good to see them and we look forward to many more play dates in the future.

Great Grandparents are the Best

Jenna is so lucky to four great grandparents (not very many people can say that)

A few weeks ago when we were up north Jenna got to spend a few hours with her G.G. (Great Grandma Arlene) at the Camano Island beach cabin. While Jeff, Grandma Myrene and Glenn worked in the yard; Jenna and G.G. enjoyed the sunshine on the deck.
Last weekend we were able to visit G.G. again! She was very interested in what G.G. had to say.

Before we traveled back home we were able to see Great Grandpa Armey. Jenna has not seen him since she was a few weeks old and as I look back at the old photos she has changed so much! Grandpa is such a tough looking guy but when you put Jenna in his arms he melts :)

We are really looking forward to seeing Great Grandpa and Great Grandma Carlson in a few weeks when they are up visiting from Arizona.
From our trip to AZ in April
Jenna is truly blessed to have these wonderful people in her life!

You expect me to eat this?

The time has come for Jenna to begin to eat real food (or so we thought). She has been acting interested the last few weeks...watching us intently as we eat, opening her mouth when I put food into mine and lunging towards food when it comes near. So last week we decided to introduce rice cereal.
We really thought she would be eager to try it, but it did not go as planned. As soon as the spoon entered her mouth and the first drop of food landed on her tongue she gave me the "are you kidding me look?" which then turned into tears.
I tried again the next day in hopes of success. She liked the taste a little more, but just as the camera came out the tears welled up again. One of the many parenting books I have (thanks Papa) says to go ahead and stop feeding her solid food for a few days and then start again.
Picture captured right before the melt down
Over the weekend I was eating corn on the cob at my parents house and Jenna once again was lunging towards my corn and it was suggested for me to let her put into her mouth. I think she thought it was a toy with some flavor.

This put a thought into my head that maybe she is ready for more flavorful solid foods, rather than that bland rice cereal (I tried it and I too would be crying). So today she tried rice cereal mixed with some carrots. There was a worried look at one point but no tears and I even got a smile!
Maybe we are on to something and food isn't so bad after all.

Who Does Jenna Look Like?

We always seem to get the question, "Who do you think Jenna looks like?" Well I think it is fairly obvious that she looks like a Moller...especially her daddy!

I think there was a little bit of me in her at one point...

I think she looks like Jenna...with very strong Moller genes!
