A Skype Birthday

We have a tradition that when we send a gift to cousin Kailey in California (or they send something to us) we Skype opening of the gifts. It makes us feel like we can be apart of whatever holiday it is or daily activity. Skyping has become a family staple. We started using Skype around the time that Kailey was born (2009) and have been able to watch her grow. It is so amazing and we get to feel included in Krissa and Brian's life even though we are far away. In fact, several of our family members have Skype now and it is a great way for Jenna to know her grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Skype was also useful when Grandma Myrene and G.G. were in California over Christmas last year and were able to see Jenna when she was just hours old. We brought our laptop into the hospital and wanted to make sure those who were not there were able to see Jenna. Alright that is enough promoting Skype...on to the pre-birthday:
Skyping on the big screen
Last week we made a Skype date with Uncle Brian, Auntie Krissa and Kailey to watch Jenna open her birthday presents from them. I told her it was practice run for her big birthday party on Saturday and for Christmas. She was so interested in the wrapping paper and couldn't wait to get her hands on the packages.
They of course over did it and bought her too much, but she loved it. We have already played with all the toys, read the books and can't wait to wear the cute sweat suit.
Just want I have always wanted!
I will get this open
Thank you to Krissa, Brian and Kailey for being so thoughtful and important people in Jenna's lives. We love you!!!
